RARE enjoys working styles of dirty, disco funk; bass driven electro house and broken beats that fuse together creating a rare audio feast of super-sonic stew. As well as working the dance floor she loves to mix deep house with smooth electronica and future funk for late night grooves. She frequently performs with musicians accompanying the music with live guitar, percussion and electronics from a Roland 505.

Her early music inspiration was provoked by legends such as Apex Twin, Orbital, Kraftwerk, Green Velvet, jazzanova and Kevin Yost More recently she has been greatly influenced by some of the grand artists of the new millennium such as Plump Dj's, Chicken Lips, Inland Knights, Metro Area and Dubtribe. There is also exceptional talent from Australia and New Zealand that flicks her buttons such as tracks off the Hussle label, Live electronica outfits like Infusion, Offcutts and Alpha Town as well as groups from the Urban NZ Music movement like favourites Salmonella Dub, Rombus and Sola Rosa.

Since February of 2003 Rire has been working professionally as a DJ and has already carried out support shows at the Metro Theatre's Roma Room for Death in Vegas, 1200 Techniques, Off Cutts and Salmonella Dub. She has secured residencies at The Harbor View Hotel at the Rocks and Casey's Hotel at Glebe. She has had spots at UN night club, Candy's Apartment and Cargo Bar, also playing SISTA at Hugo's lounge and Watson's Bay Hotel on a regular basis. This season has seen Rare travel up to Coffs Harbor for An all girl Dj event '5 Angels' and to the Snowy Valley Resort for NOVA 969's 'Fun-Bus Weekend' to play an incredible 4 hour set to beat hungry snow goers.
