STYLE

With a diverse and lengthy musical background as a singer & performer – Cookiegirl took to the decks in early 2000. Her style is flexible depending on the mood and the occasion - from mixing hard nu skool breaks sets to combining old skool funk and classic hip hop into her breaks sets to get the dancefloor jumping. She can also bust out classy downtempo funk for the more relaxed venue but basically always has a great time behind the decks and extends that to the audience.

INFLUENCES

Her influences are Krafty Kuts “For his diversity as a producer and the masterful way in which he constructs his sets, from hip hop to funk through to bangin’ nu skool”, Plump DJ’s “For their fat funky beats and cause you can tell they’re always having such a great time when they’re playing!” also Freq Nasty “For his amazing ability to draw his audience in and bend their heads”, and Dynamo Productions, “Modern masters of the old skool funk groove”. Locally she has been inspired from the very beginning by Jelli D & Catfood AKA The Beat Traffikers, two guys who have an amazing dedication to their music and are “probably the most beautiful and talented people I know”.
Early inspiration came from acts as diverse as Beastie Boys, Massive Attack, Me’shell Ndegeocello & Underworld.
